Solar Water Heating has been in use for hundreds if not thousands of years to heat water, with advancement in technology solar water heating systems have become more and more efficient with the evacuated tube solar water heating technology producing efficiencies of well over 90%. That means that more than 90% of the sun’s energy landing on its surface is converted into heat used to heat the water. This is also one of the most economical option in renewable energy product when deciding to go green offering the fastest returns on investments.

The advantage of using evacuated tubes is that they will work even during the coldest seasons unlike old style flat plat collector. The vacuum prevents the heat from being loss to the atmosphere by the ambient temperature. Even in very cloudy and cold times enough sunlight can be absorbed so you will still be getting pre-heated water.

These evacuated / vacuum tubes are made from ultra-tough borosilicate glass with a double wall construction. The glass on the inner tube is coated on its outer surface with an absorbent coating, and on its inner surface with a reflective coating. Inside each tube all air is removed making a vacuum which will trap all of the infra-red radiation (i.e. heat) absorbed from the sun by the tube.

This simple system is completely sealed and needs minimal maintenance over its life expectancy of 20+ years.
